SUBSEQUENT CONTRACT FOR SUPPORT OF MU-90 TORPEDO
On April 4, the Regional Logistics Base in Walcz announced the signing of an agreement with Megmar Logistics & Consulting Sp. z o.o. for the continuation of the maintenance program for MU90 light torpedoes, which are on the Navy’s armament.
The contract was signed on March 28 and will run from 2024 to 2026. The process of selecting the contractor was based on a negotiated procedure without prior publication, due to the contractor’s long-standing cooperation with the contracting authority and the fact that Megmar Logistics & Consulting Sp. z o.o. is the exclusive representative of the manufacturer in the domestic market.
The services provided under the contract include ILS support of the MU90 torpedo.
Poland acquired MU90 torpedoes in 2001, which were integrated into Oliver Hazard Perry frigates, Kaman SH-2G Super Seaprite helicopters and Mil Mi-14P³. There are also plans to equip the Naval Aviation Brigade with Leonardo AW101 multi-role helicopters and missile frigates. Growing needs suggest the need to purchase a new batch of torpedoes.
