Run for the Commando’s Knife: MLC at the finishing line

On Friday, 7th October, an important sporting event took place in Lubliniec. It was in this Silesian town that a jubilee, 20th Run for the Commando’s Knife was held – a part of the Polish Championships of Uniformed Services in Cross-country. One of the objectives of the event was to honor the memory of late gen. Wlodzimierz Potasinski, Commander-in-chief of Polish Special Operation Forces.
Participants of the run were soldiers, employees and officers of the Uniformed Services – both on duty and reservists. More than 700 participants showed up at the starting line. The route of the run was quite demanding – it led by a wooded, hilly area, and also included some parts of sandy surface. Runners competed in full field uniforms.
The run’s distance was 10 km for men, and 5 km for women. Champions of the whole Uniformed Services in cross-country (in both sex categories separately) were indicated, as well as winners within each type of the Uniformed Services.
Senior constable Szymon Kulka of the Regional Police Headquarters in Wroclaw was the best male runner. The first woman who crossed the finish line was, in turn, private Karolina Pilarska of Commando Military Unit / WKB Meta Lubliniec. Both winners received diplomas and awards from the hands of Mariusz Maslarz, CEO of MLC company, which had the honor to be one of the sponsors of the run.
