Contract award: Modification of the VCS 3020X voice communication system
On November 16, 2020, the Director of the Cyberspace Resource Center of the Armed Forces signed an Agreement with MEGMAR LOGISTICS & CONSULTING for the “Modification of the VCS3020X voice communication system”. The concluded Agreement, implemented in the years 2020-2022, covers, among others, the replacement of devices and updating the VCS system software, including the implementation of new functionalities increasing the level of quality and safety, as well as the replacement and modification of the spare parts stock. In addition, under the Agreement, new workstations for the system will be provided and training for the system operation personnel and air traffic services (controllers) will be conducted.
The FREQUENTIS Voice Communications System (VCS) system was introduced to the Polish Armed Forces in 2004 as part of the assistance of the Government of the United States of America – the PL-L-LAA contract. It was designed to support the operational activities of air search and rescue groups under SAR (Search and Rescue).
In the years 2008-2010, as part of the Agreement signed by the Polish Air Force, the system manufacturer, FREQUENTIS, introduced a new system – VCS3020X to operational work.
The purpose of the network version of the VCS system is to provide functionaries responsible for command, guidance and conduct of air search and rescue operations, reliable access to aviation radio stations located throughout the country, as well as access to wired communication means. The VCS system is built on the basis of 4 exchanges (3 – stationary, 1 – portable and transportable), to which 23 radio stations are connected.
In the years 2014 – 2016, MEGMAR LOGISTICS & CONSULTING, as a representative of FREQUENTIS, serviced the VCS 3020X system.
The good and fruitful earlier cooperation of our companies and the function of the only representative of FREQUENTIS on the military market in Poland performed by MEGMAR resulted in signing a bilateral subcontract agreement in the above-mentioned Agreement. As a subcontractor, FREQUENTIS guarantees access to new system components and software. The company’s many years of extensive experience in the supply of voice communication systems ensures reliable performance of the Agreement and, consequently, ensuring failure-free and continuous operation of the modified system.
