The naming ceremony of the M-346 aircraft

The naming ceremony of the M-346 aircraft was held on November 24, 2018 at the 4th Wing Aviation School in Dęblin. They were given the name Bielik. The ceremony was attended by the President of Poland, Andrzej Duda and his wife Agata Kornhauser-Duda, who was appointed godmother of the aircraft. This ceremony constitutes a part of the celebrations of a centenary of Poland’s regained its independence and a centenary of Polish military aviation.

At the invitation of the Commander of the 4th Wing Aviation School, Colonel Wojciech Pikuła, the ceremony was attended by Mariusz Maślarz, President and CEO of Megmar L&C.

The M-346 Master is currently one of the most technologically advanced training aircraft in the world. Pilots trained on the M-346 will be able to easily change to the multi-task F-16. Both machines have similar avionics and a built-in drogue parachute. The M-346 Bielik is to substitute a training plane Iskra, which has been used in military aviation for 54 years and which is considered a legend of Polish school aviation.
